Our Intent

At Caldecote CE Academy it is our intent that all children will have access to a great curriculum and a range of opportunities to develop their love of music and singing. 

Through the use of 'Charanga' as our chosen scheme, we deliver all if the requirements of the National Curriculum, ensuring that all children:

• Perform, listen to, review and evaluate music.
• Be taught to sing, create and compose music.
• Understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated.

At Caldecote is is our intention that children gain a firm understanding of what music is, through listening, singing, playing, evaluating and composing across a variety of historical periods, styles, traditions and musical genres. Our objective is to give our children many opportunities to develop a curiosity for the subject, as well as an understanding and acceptance of the importance of all types of music.
