What is Families Supporting Families?
We are a group of families, along with a member of staff, who come together to discuss things that we would like to know more about.
We also have tea / coffee / squash and biscuits!
2023-24 Sessions
Autumn term - Working with families to develop our school vision.
Spring term - What is Lexia and how can families use it to support their children at home? We will show you what information we get from it, from a teacher perspective.
Spring term 2 - Reading and phonics. How can we support our children?
2022-23 Sessions
- What is Read Write Inc and how do we teach it in school? Have a go at using some of the strategies together.
- Monday 6th March - What behaviour strategies do we use in school and why?
- Thursday 30th March - What are the Key Stage 1 SATs? What is the year 1 phonics check? What is the year 4 multiplication check? What will the children do and how can you help at home?
- Wednesday 10th May - What is e-safety? Why is this important? Where can families find more information? We can provide laptops for this session for you to access courses if you wish.
- Monday 26th June - How can we help our children to develop an enjoyment for reading?
- Monday 17th July - Review of the year and what we can do next.
