Lunch at Caldecote CE Academy

At lunchtime your child may have a school meal or bring a packed lunch from home.

Our school meals are cooked by Aspens, who provide us with balanced meals freshly prepared each day.  Every child has an account set up for Aspens.  By 8.30am, meals must be ordered via the Aspens portal.  Children in Reception, year 1 and year 2 are able to have a free school meal.  In years 3 - 5, school meals must be paid for except those in receipt of Free School Meals.  Please speak to Mrs Chase if you are unsure. 

Children eat in the main hall, whether they have school meals or bring a packed lunch.  

If your child is bringing a packed lunch from home, please make sure that it does not contain chocolate bars, sweets or fizzy drinks of any kind and that the drink is not in a glass bottle.  Still flavoured water and fruit juice can be included in a packed lunch (not the classroom drinks bottle).

We are a nut free school. Please ensure that lunch boxes do not contain any products containing nuts of any kind.  This also includes spreads such as peanut butter and Nutella. 

We are very pleased to be part of the Governments’ School Fruit Scheme, which provides a piece of fruit to every child from Reception to Year 2. We encourage our older children to bring a piece of fruit, cheese or breadsticks to school to eat during the morning break. All children are encouraged to drink water regularly throughout the day.
